Recovery process

Authority, data, and safety come before disassembly.

The current operating method is designed to keep each accepted item tied to its source, condition, risks, decisions, and next destination without overstating certification or service scope.

Operating sequence

A five-stage controlled path.

Not every item completes every stage; exceptions stop until a responsible next action is known.

Review before transport

Identify the customer, authority, item types, quantity, condition, data state, batteries, CRTs, hazards, weight, location, and requested outcome.

Receive and identify

Match accepted property to the approved intake, record visible identity and condition, and stop on material differences or unknown ownership.

Separate and secure

Control data-bearing devices and isolate batteries, CRTs, lamps, damaged items, unknown materials, and other exceptions before ordinary staging.

Evaluate highest use

Consider whole-unit reuse, repair evaluation, and controlled parts recovery before choosing a material or disposal path.

Transfer and reconcile

Use an approved downstream for work outside the current scope and retain the available transfer, receipt, exception, or disposition record linked to the source lot.

Data control

Data-bearing equipment is a separate decision lane.

Secure staging is not the same as data sanitization, destruction, or a certificate. Those outcomes require exact media identification, customer authority, an approved method, verification, records, and a responsible release.

Before acceptance

  • Identify owner and authorized decision maker
  • Identify device and media types
  • State the requested data outcome
  • Agree access, custody, evidence, and exception rules

No assumption

  • No blanket data-destruction promise
  • No certificate claim without the stated process and evidence
  • No resale with unknown data state
  • No release when ownership or authorization is unresolved

Current limits

Some work remains outside the current pilot.

Destructive, thermal, and chemical processing; battery repair or rebuilding; broad hazardous-material handling; unrestricted public drop-off; and a mature full-service ITAD program are not represented by this site.

Certification

No independent certification claim

eCycle does not claim R2, e-Stewards, ISO certification, government approval, or equivalent third-party conformity.

Processing

No destructive or chemical lane

Current work does not imply shredding, smelting, thermal recovery, chemical extraction, CRT processing, or battery-cell processing.

Downstream

Qualified transfer is specific

The downstream destination and acceptance must fit the exact material. A relationship or receipt does not make eCycle independently certified.

Start with the actual job

Start with a short, honest inventory.

Describe the equipment, quantity, source, condition, batteries, data-bearing items, location, and requested outcome. eCycle will respond with the next safe information or routing step.
